LAST CHANCE TO BUY - SECURE AN APARTMENT TO THRILL AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST

Just one final duplex apartment remains for sale at the popular Brentford Lock West development. Apartment 007 offers one lucky the purchaser the opportunity to secure themselves an impressive, split level apartment with terrace. If that is not enough, the home offers a high level of specification throughout, with interior designed fitted kitchen and contemporary bathroom suites – certain to impress even the most discerning of guests.

The apartment, which forms part of the award-winning Brentford Lock West development in west London, boasts a spacious open plan kitchen/living/dining area along with a cloakroom and private terrace to the ground floor. The master bedroom with en-suite and a further bedroom and bathroom occupy the first floor.

The development as a whole has been enjoying strong demand, with a busy few months of sales as purchasers, the majority first time buyers from the local area, look to secure a new home here. With Help to Buy available on selected plots across the development, this has proved a significant enabler – making homeownership a reality for a greater number of would-be purchasers.

James Stockdale, Development Manager, Brentford Lock West, said: "Our duplex apartments have offered purchasers the opportunity to secure something a little bit different. Split over two floors, they offer purchasers a typically more traditional layout, which has really appealed.

"Over recent months we have experienced strong demand from buyers, keen to secure themselves a new home here. The bias remains very much local, with the majority of purchasers coming from Brentford itself or the surrounding areas such as Chiswick and Ealing. A significant number of our purchasers have been first time buyers and most of these have used the Government's Help to Buy scheme - clearly demonstrating the key role that this is currently playing in the market."

Arranged around a beautifully landscaped courtyard, Keelson Gardens comprises a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, duplex apartments, penthouses and townhouses. The homes here benefit from the shared use of a communal courtyard, in addition to boasting their own balcony or terrace. The first release of homes comprised a collection of apartments and penthouses. Prices for the remaining apartments at Keelson Gardens start from £547,500.

The reaming two bedroom duplex apartment is priced at £585,000.

Brentford Lock West forms part of a long-term regeneration project to breathe new life into Brentford through the anticipated delivery of in excess of 700 new homes. Close to local shops, leisure facilities, beautiful parks and waterside walkways, the scheme has been carefully designed to maximise the water frontage whilst offering stylish homes, community spaces and commercial buildings in a new desirable west London destination.

BRENTFORD FC COMMUNITY SPORTS TRUST TO HOST HEART SCREENING AT BRENTFORD SPORTS FEST

As part of its Brentford Sports FEST event, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust will offer a special heart screening service at Syon Park on Sunday 12 May. In partnership with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), the screening has been established in memory of Brentford FC Sporting Director Robert Rowan, whose life was tragically cut short in November 2018 when he suffered a fatal cardiomyopathy episode at only 28 years of age.

The heart screening is part of Brentford Spots FEST, which offers a number of sporting activities for the local community at the iconic Syon Park.

Rob's wife, Suzanne Rowan, said: "Rob's family and I would like to thank the Brentford FC community for all their support in memory of Rob. Without them, our ongoing funding for screenings just wouldn't be possible. We are proud to be making an impact on lives of young people and playing a part in helping to prevent other families from experiencing the same devastating grief as we have."

Every week, 12 apparently fit and healthy young (aged 35 and under) people lose their lives to sudden cardiac death in the UK - a statistic that is believed to be a conservative estimate. A staggering 80% of these apparently healthy young people who die from young sudden cardiac death will have shown no previous sign of heart defects until it is too late – which is why CRY believes screening is so vitally important.

An ECG test is a simple way to identify the vast majority of abnormalities that can cause sudden deaths in young people. The test is quick, non-invasive and, if necessary, a further Echocardiogram can be taken on the same day to provide further clarity or reassurance.

Chief Executive of CRY, Dr. Steven Cox, said: "The death of a young person is heart-breaking and devastating for any family. It is therefore essential that anyone with a potentially fatal heart condition knows about it. Without this knowledge and the appropriate treatment, they could be putting their lives at risk as in 80% of cases there are no signs or symptoms. Sport itself does not actually cause sudden cardiac death but it can significantly increase a young person's risk if they have an underlying condition. However, research carried out by CRY has also shown that a large number of these deaths will also occur when a young person is at rest or even sleeping."

"Although screening will not identify all those at risk, in Italy, where screening is mandatory for all young people engaged in organised sport, the incidence of young sudden cardiac death has decreased by 90%."

Run in partnership with Brentford Lock West, Brentford Sports FEST aims to bring sport to the heart of the local community.

Residents of all ages and abilities can take part in a 10k run, 5k run, 3k run, primary schools challenge and 5k Walk and Talk (in association with West London Mental Health Trust).

For water lovers, local residents can take part in an exciting paddleboarding lesson at Brentford Lock. Plus, yoga, Pilates, frisbee golf, rowing and an exciting cricket stimulator can be sampled at our vibrant health and fitness village.

AN AWARD WINNING SCHEME BY THE WATER

Phase two at Brentford Lock West has made it into the shortlist for the London RIBA Awards 2019 – rubbing shoulders with the likes of the BBC Television Centre and the Royal Opera House. Just 83 projects across London have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards, with the finalists due to be announced in May this year.

Chalico Walk, the first collection of homes to be delivered as part of phase two here, already secured a London RIBA Award in 2018 for its architecture. This time, the entire collection of homes in phase two has been shortlisted, to include the impressive Keelson Gardens. Arranged around a beautifully landscaped courtyard, Keelson Gardens comprises a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, duplex apartments, penthouses and townhouses. The homes benefit from the shared use of a communal courtyard, in addition to boasting their own balcony or terrace.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) awards are highly regarded across the industry, recognising buildings throughout the UK that have made a significant contribution to architecture. Winners of the London RIBA Award in May will then go on to be entered as finalists into the RIBA National Awards, which will be announced later in 2019.

James Stockdale, Development Manager, Brentford Lock West, said: "The architecture across the development pays careful attention to the site's history and its waterside location and has been widely celebrated. The second phase of homes here have been designed to complement the earlier phase and provide our residents with truly inspiring and sociable places to live. In addition to well thought out interior spaces, carefully planned courtyards encourage a real sense of community here, while generous balconies and terraces offer the opportunity to bring the outside in. We have a limited number of apartments and townhouses still available here and I would encourage anyone looking for a home in the area to come along and view the homes we have on offer."

LOCAL RENTERS CHOOSE HOME OWNERSHIP AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST

For Sadete Saliuku and her partner Hajdin Behram it was an impromptu viewing of the marketing suite at Brentford Lock West that led to the couple securing their first home here together – a ground floor, two bedroom apartment with a wraparound terrace in Brentford, west London.

The couple, who were happily renting locally had driven past the Brentford Lock West development on numerous occasions before curiosity got the better of them and Hajdin called in to enquire about the homes on offer here. Wowed by the marketing suite and enthused by the helpful and friendly sales team onsite, Hadjin then made a second appointment to come back with his partner and after some further visits to view the show homes here, the couple reserved a two bedroom apartment in Keelson Gardens, with the use of Help to Buy.

Speaking of their purchase, Sadete said: "We are so excited to have secured our first home here. We really weren't looking to purchase a property, but we just fell in love with the development. There is a real sense of community here, which gives the whole development a really friendly and welcoming feel and it's in such a great spot alongside the canal. The apartment we have chosen has a fantastic terrace, which is ideal for our young son and we also benefit from a lovely communal courtyard, which we look straight out onto."

Talking of Help to Buy, Sadete added: "For us, we just wouldn't have been able to purchase a property at this time, if it wasn't for the Help to Buy scheme. We were renting locally so we already knew the area and we were keen to stay here. By moving just down the road, it means we are still able to stay close to friends and family, while feeling confident that we have made a great investment for our family's future."

The homes at Brentford Lock West enjoy a peaceful, waterside setting alongside the banks of the Grand Union Canal. In addition to shared communal spaces, residents here enjoy easy access to a host of parks and green open spaces, while still remaining within easy reach of the Capital by both road and rail.

Talking of the sales team, Sadete concluded: "Thomas and the sales team have honestly been amazing. I really don't think we would have got to where we are today if it wasn't for their help and support throughout the entire purchase process. It was their enthusiasm and passion for the development that really captured our interest from the start and they have been with us every step of the way since. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are always so positive and supportive. If you are looking for a new home in the area, we couldn't recommend Brentford Lock West and the team highly enough."

PERMISSION GRANTED FOR NEW HOMES, COMMERCIAL SPACE AND PUBLIC BRIDGE AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST

Plans for new homes, commercial space and a public bridge over the Grand Union Canal at Waterside Places' Brentford Lock West development have been unanimously approved by London Borough of Hounslow.

Phase three will deliver 452 new homes, with 187 affordable, alongside commercial / retail space and a new public bridge. The public bridge will create a new route, improving connectivity through Brentford, while opening access to the Grand Union Canal, local parks, Brentford Station and Brentford High Street.

The new bridge will be accessible to pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchairs and buggies and will connect Robin Grove Recreation Ground to a new public square, which will be delivered as part of phase three. The new crossing will open before this phase is complete and Waterside Places are also contributing funds towards lighting, CCTV and landscaping improvements at Robin Grove Recreation Ground.

A new public square will be fronted by commercial and retail spaces, along with a new frame overhanging the canal which mirrors the existing overhanging warehouse and recognises the industrial heritage of the area. Towpath improvements, new mooring facilities and the renovation of the existing dock will enhance this stretch of the waterway. To promote sports and leisure activities, new community facilities will be provided for use by local sports clubs.

The wider Brentford Lock West regeneration is being delivered by Waterside Places – a joint venture between the Canal & River Trust, and national urban regeneration specialists, Muse Developments. Since it commenced in 2012, the multi-award winning scheme has delivered over 300 homes, comprising stylish town houses and apartments in a neighbourhood street setting carefully designed to maximise the water frontage. The scheme has won a variety of awards including four prestigious RIBA awards, three Sunday Times awards, including best developer for Waterside Places.

The scheme was inspired by traditional water-side architecture that celebrates the area's industrial heritage. Both initial phases have proved highly successful, with only a small number of new homes still available to buy and a vibrant, diverse community forming in the neighbourhood. Phase three will follow the quality, pattern and scale established in previous phases to complete the rejuvenation of Brentford Lock.

As part of the Brentford Lock West development, a new bus depot will also be provided on Commerce Road to replacing the existing Metrolink facility on the same site.

Work on the new bridge is expected to start this year and will take two years to complete. Enabling works for phase three and construction of the first buildings is also targeted to start in 2019.

Nigel Franklin, chairman at Waterside Places, said:

"We are delighted to have received unanimous approval from London Borough of Hounslow for the third and final phase of Brentford Lock West, along with the new bridge over the Grand Union Canal. This is a ringing endorsement for the vibrant new community we are creating here and we look forward to delivering the final piece of this high quality, award-winning regeneration project in Brentford."

Stuart Mills, chief investment officer at the Canal & River Trust said:

"Phases 1 & 2 of Brentford Lock West have embraced the canal in Brentford. It is great news that we can now get on with completing the final phase including the new bridge, which along with the towpath improvements and community facilities on the waterfront, will open up the canal for more people to enjoy stimulating leisure and sports activity and contributing to the wellbeing of everyone who uses the waterway."

Mel Green, a resident at Brentford Lock West said:

"It's great news that the plans have been approved – the new bridge will link up the whole area and make it easier to get from the station to the high street and to local attractions. There is a good community feel here and when the final phase is completed it will be fantastic.

"This event is a fantastic celebration of their important community work."

"I do quite a lot of running events, but it's great to have a local sporting event that is right on your doorstep."

BRENTFORD LOCK WEST SCORES A HAT TRICK AT BRITISH HOMES AWARDS

Waterside Places' Brentford Lock West has picked up an impressive three awards at the prestigious British Homes Awards. Chalico Walk, the first phase of homes to be delivered as part of phase two at this waterside scheme, secured 'Apartment Development of the Year', as well as 'Development of the Year', while Waterside Places itself was recognised as 'Homebuilder of the Year'.

Designed by architects Mae, Chalico Walk forms part of the larger Brentford Lock West development, a long-term regeneration project which is breathing new life into Brentford. The scheme design refers to the site's industrial past with saw-tooth roofs of the pavilion buildings prominent on the skyline. The blocks are faced in brick, insitu concrete and reconstituted stone, complementing the historic setting and the scheme's first phase.

The British Homes Awards, which are run by The Sunday Times, attract some of the biggest names in housebuilding and aim to celebrate exceptional design across every aspect of housebuilding — from one-off houses to major developments.

James Stockdale, Development Manager at Waterside Places said: "It is a real honour to have picked up no less than three awards at this year's British Homes Awards. Chalico Walk is a superb collection of apartments, which offer residents the opportunity to secure a highly specified new home, right on the canal. From the scheme's impressive atrium to its generous balconies it boasts an array of striking architectural features – making it a sought after destination and popular among a range of buyers."

Alex Ely, Principal at Mae added: "We are delighted to receive these awards for Brentford Lock West. We've worked hard to create a great place to live that positively adds to the regeneration of this waterfront site. Our design builds on the history of the area whilst adding to the industrial canal-side heritage of the site in a way that respects the past whilst looking positively to the future."

YOUNG PEOPLE DRIVE DEMAND FOR WATERSIDE HOMES

Since the latest collection of new homes were launched at Brentford Lock West earlier this year, the waterside scheme has been proving a hit with first time buyers. Over 80% of the homes currently reserved at Keelson Gardens have been purchased by those taking their first step onto the property ladder, making it a popular choice among young professionals.

The scheme, which is set alongside the Grand Union Canal in Brentford, west London offers buyers the opportunity to secure an impressive new home, in a waterside setting, while still benefiting from being within easy reach of the Capital and the surrounding boroughs. The canal boasts an active water sports scene – with local paddleboarding and canoe clubs a regular sight on the water, right in front of the development.

According to the latest Waterside Survey 2018 by Strutt & Parker, which was released earlier this month, young adults are driving the demand for waterside living in the UK. The survey revealed that over a quarter (26%) of under-35s and over a third (36%) of 35-39s were actively looking to live near water within five years - a trend very much being supported by the purchaser profile at Brentford Lock West.

James Stockdale, Development Manager, Waterside Places, said: "There is no doubt that the waterside setting at Brentford Lock West has proved a major draw among our purchasers. There is always something happening on the water and it's great to see so many of our residents making active use of the canal. Local club Active360 runs regular paddleboarding sessions directly on the canal in front of the development, while EDGE, progressive paddling, Brentford's kayak and canoe club, is also regularly seen on the water – offering residents ample opportunity to try their hand at something new, or to enhance an existing hobby or skill."

Paul Hyman of Active 360, said: "Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) is the world's fastest growing water sport and it's great to see so many people getting on the water and giving it a go. We run a host of training sessions and courses for all levels and abilities – with a number taking place at Brentford Lock. Paddleboarding is not only a good way to keep fit but it's an excellent way to get to meet new people and make new friends within your community."

ONE COUPLE SCORE THEIR PERFECT HOME IN BRENTFORD

As they settle into their new home, avid football fans Rhys and Anna still can't believe they have managed to score themselves a brand new home in their beloved Brentford.

As season ticket holders at Brentford FC and after having rented in the area for over six years, Rhys Williams and his partner Anna Mason dreamed of owning their own home in Brentford. However, it wasn't until the couple came across Brentford Lock West and became aware of the Government's Help to Buy scheme, that this dream became a reality for them.

The couple have now moved into their brand new, two-bedroom apartment at Brentford Lock West's Chalico Walk, which overlooks the Grand Union Canal and boasts a generous terrace.

Talking of their purchase, Rhys Williams said: "I have a strong affiliation with Brentford and after having rented in the area for such a long time, we were really keen to stay here and to stay close to friends. However, we really didn't think we'd be able to afford anything here. The Help to Buy scheme has meant that we have a stunning new home, right on the canal and we couldn't be happier. We have a huge terrace and we are just a short stroll from some great parks and outside spaces – it's such a great location."

Talking of their experience of the sales team, Rhys added: "The sales team have been excellent. From the start they were really informative and took the time to go through everything with us in great detail. They have supported us throughout our journey and they were there to welcome us into our new home too. We often call into the sales suite just to say hello to the team and they have been really quick to assist with any queries we have had since moving in. Buying here has been a really positive experience, from start to finish."

Each of the homes at Brentford Lock West have been designed to a high specification. From interior designed kitchens to beautifully presented bathroom suites, the homes incorporate an array of brand name appliances.

HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TAKE PART IN BRENTFORD CHALLENGE

Runners, families and children basked in the summer sunshine as the Mayor of Hounslow, CouncillorSamia Chaudhary, was the official starter for the Brentford Challenge.

With temperatures soaring to 24 degrees, more than 300 people – including local MP Ruth Cadbury – took part in one of Brentford's biggest sporting events at Syon Park last Sunday.

Run in partnership with Brentford Lock West, the Brentford Challenge included a 10k run, 5k run, 5k Walk and Talk (in association with West London Mental Health Trust) and a 1k children's race. Interestingly, all the runners had the unique opportunity to run in the stunning private grounds of Syon Park.

Steve and Jenny who ran the 10k race and live in Brentford said: "We live in the Brentford Lock West development and we thought the race looked like a great course; I think it's fantastic to get involved with a local community event."

"We do quite a lot of running events," Jenny added. "But it's great to have a local sporting event that is right on your doorstep."

This year also marked a special mental health event: a 5k mental health awareness walk in partnership with West London Mental Health Trust. The walk – coined a 5k 'Walk & Talk' – aims to tackle the stigma around mental health and encourage more people to get active.

Angela Benjamin, who took part in the 5k mental health awareness walk, said: "I suffered from depression after the death of my two daughters. I took part in a similar event last year and it was amazing to talk to other people who are in a similar situation to me.

"Talking to people from all backgrounds made me realise I was not alone – raising awareness of mental health is so important."

Along with highlighting the importance of mental health, the Brentford Challenge also offered a range of activities that encouraged local children to get more active. The event hosted an under 8s football festival, an introduction to paddleboarding at Brentford Lock and a Pilates taster session.

Lee Doyle, Chief Executive of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said: "I would like to thank our partners Brentford Lock West, Syon House, Ferrero and Enjoy Work for enabling us to deliver a fantastic event that can be enjoyed by everyone in the local community.

"Sporting events like these highlight the spirit of the local community, which in turn, help more local people to get active and enjoy exercise."

Michael Auger, Regional Director for Brentford Lock West and Brentford's official partner for the event, said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you to the Community Sports Trust and to all of the people who took part in the annual Brentford Challenge on Sunday. Yet again it was a fantastic event that saw the whole community come together to get active and enjoy a fun packed day.

Whether you participated in one of the many organised runs, you took part in the paddleboarding right outside our sales suite, or you enjoyed the various activities on offer in the sports village, we hope you had as much fun as we did! It was great to see so many of our residents taking part and to hear how they are enjoying life here."

It has always been important to us that the scheme as a whole pays tribute to its industrial heritage, while delivering a complimentary collection of new homes that reach the highest of design standards."

HELP TO BUY + A WATERSIDE LOCATION = A WINNING FORMULA FOR ONE COUPLE AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST

For one couple looking to secure themselves their first home, it was the lure of a waterside apartment, combined with the offer of Help to Buy, which proved the winning formula. Ben Harrison and his partner Karen French had been searching to buy their first home for over a year when they came across Brentford Lock West – an impressive collection of apartments and penthouses situated alongside the Grand Union Canal in Brentford, west London.

The couple, who both work as freelance musicians, had been renting in Ealing for the last eight years, and were keen to stay in west London. Eager to purchase their first home together they were aware that they would need the Government's Help to Buy scheme to assist them with their initial step onto the ladder. After discovering Brentford Lock West online, they were keen to investigate whether they really could afford to purchase such an impressive, highly specified apartment which offered its own private balcony and a direct water view.

After meeting with the sales team on site and exploring the local area, the couple are delighted to have just secured themselves a one bedroom, water facing apartment at Brentford Lock West.

Ben Harrison commented: "We are really excited to have purchased our first home together and we couldn't think of anywhere better to be moving to. There is so much going on in Brentford already and with all the regeneration plans underway, it is only going to get better. To be situated directly on the water and with or own balcony, overlooking the canal, is like a dream come true – we never imagined we would be able to afford such a great first home. Help to Buy has proved a lifeline for us, helping us to finally get out of rented and into our very own home.

"We were really impressed with the high level of specification, as well as the space and light that the apartment offers us. What's more, we've got almost immediate access onto the canal – where there is always something happening from paddle boarding to canoeing. We can't wait to move in and start enjoying all that our new home offers us."

Talking of their experience of the sales team, Ben added: "The sales team were like a breath of fresh air – we couldn't have asked for more from them. They have always been very friendly and quick to respond. What's more, they are really proactive – regularly getting in touch to keep us updated with the progress of everything. We've been really impressed and would definitely recommend buying here to others."

Chalico Walk makes up the first of the homes to be released as part of phase two at Brentford Lock West. A waterfront building of 42 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, Chalico Walk overlooks Brentford's Grand Union Canal, where Waterside Places has carried out extensive improvements.

DEMAND FOR WATERSIDE HOMES REMAINS STRONG

Over 50% of homes have now sold at Chalico Walk, the latest release of homes at the award-winning Brentford Lock West, in west London. Interest in the collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses has remained strong, with buyers keen to secure themselves a highly specified new apartment in a waterside setting.

The homes were first released to the market earlier this year and have enjoyed wide appeal, with purchasers ranging from first time buyers and second steppers to downsizers. A significant proportion of the homes have been purchased by local buyers, keen to take advantage of all that this up and coming part of west London has to offer. With its access to green open spaces, close proximity to the water and a thriving community spirit, Brentford Lock West offers buyers the opportunity to secure an impressive new home, with a host of local amenities on the doorstep.

The development's waterside setting has proved a major draw for many purchasers. The Grand Union Canal, where Waterside Places has carried out extensive improvements, boasts an active watersports scene. Local club Active 360 runs regular paddle boarding sessions directly on the canal in front of the development, while Edge, Brentford's kayak and canoe club, is also regularly seen on the water here – offering residents ample opportunity to try their hand at something new, or to enhance an existing hobby or skill.

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, commented: "With the first phase of homes here already in place and occupied, the development enjoys a great sense of community. All of the apartments at Chalico Walk enjoy a high specification and they all benefit from their own balcony or terrace, offering precious outside space. There is no denying that the scheme's waterside setting has really added to the appeal here – it's not that often in London you have an opportunity to purchase a home with water views."

BRENTFORD’S WATERSIDE SCHEME PICKS UP ANOTHER INDUSTRY AWARD

4th July 2017

Brentford Lock West wins a prestigious RIBA London Award 2017

Waterside Places has won a highly acclaimed RIBA London Award for its waterside development, Brentford Lock West. This is the third RIBA Award for the development and follows a RIBA National and a RIBA London Award in 2015, for the first collection of homes delivered here as part of this large-scale regeneration scheme.

This latest RIBA Award, was for The Arbor – by Architects Mikhail Riches with Cathy Hawley. The Arbor was the last collection of homes to delivered as part of phase one at Brentford Lock West and comprises 27 one, two and three bedroom apartments, duplexes and townhouses, situated along a neighbourhood street. The scheme and its design was described by the judges as being 'functional, but also thoughtful, and indeed, charming' and it was recognised for providing accommodation, which was 'spacious' and 'well planned throughout' with 'good natural light and views'.

John Robinson, Development Director for Brentford Lock West said: "We are delighted that yet again, Brentford Lock West has been recognised for its impressive design and architectural style. To have secured three RIBA Awards for this development is testament to the level of detail behind the project and the emphasis we have put on achieving good design – which is not only aesthetically pleasing but puts the homeowner at its heart. We would like to congratulate the architects on securing such a prestigious award. With phase two now underway, we are hopeful that this success can be continued."

Annalie Riches, Director of Mikhail Riches said: "At The Arbor and with the wider Brentford Lock West masterplan, Waterside Places has delivered an interesting and attractive new residential quarter with a strong sense of place out of a site that had lain derelict for 40 years. Our approach was to create great housing and a place with genuine, discernible character, with play spaces for children and a design for green spaces that enhances the biodiversity and wildlife of the area and canal."

Phase one at Brentford Lock West has sold out. However, phase two at Brentford has recently launched, with homes available to reserve off-plan.

DEVELOPER LAUNCHES HELP TO BUY IN BRENTFORD

23rd May 2017

Waterside Places has launched Help to Buy at its popular waterside scheme in Brentford. From this month, homebuyers keen to secure themselves a new home but struggling to raise a large enough deposit can take advantage of the Government's Help to Buy scheme, which has been made available across selected plots on Chalico Walk at the Brentford Lock West development in west London.

Phase two at Brentford Lock West was launched to the market in February this year, with a number of its waterside apartments already reserved off plan. Through the Help to Buy scheme, the developer now hopes to assist more purchasers to secure their first home here.

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, said: "Following the previous, sell-out success of phase one at Brentford Lock West, interest in our recent release of homes here has been high. Brentford is proving an increasingly popular destination among today's young home buyers – with its waterside setting, thriving community spirit and access to green open spaces, it provides London buyers with an opportunity to secure a home in an area that is well connected to the Capital, yet enjoys more of a relaxed, village feel.

"Help to Buy is proving an increasingly important route into home ownership for so many of today's buyers. We are delighted to have the scheme available across a number of our one and two bedroom apartments, meaning our homes are more accessible to a wider pool of buyers keen to secure a home here in Brentford."

PHASE TWO AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST LAUNCHING

13th February 2017

The eagerly anticipated phase two at Brentford Lock West will be launching this weekend – with appointments now being taken for the launch event on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February 2017.

Chalico Walk will make up the first of the homes to be released as part of phase two at Brentford Lock West - an award-winning development by Waterside Places. Mæ Architects has designed the homes to offer a new architectural perspective while complementing the first phase at Brentford Lock West, which has sold out. The six pavilion buildings have distinct saw-tooth roof forms that make reference to the neighbouring wharf architecture, while terraces of townhouses and inhabited bridges link the pavilions and enclose a resident garden. The visual relationship to the canal is optimised with buildings positioned to frame views of the water.

The highly specified properties will benefit from high gloss kitchens with Silestone composite worktops and contemporary bathroom suites with white sanitaryware and chrome fittings.

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, said:
"The interest we are already receiving about the imminent launch of phase two is significant and is testament to the quality of the homes we delivered here on phase one. Brentford Lock West has already had a substantial impact on this corner of west London, as a result of vast investment in the local waterways and new initiatives such as the hugely popular rooftop allotments on top of Carrick Square. Phase two will bring further architectural diversity and a variety of homes to cater for every element of this growing new community."
