OVER 200 PARTICIPANTS TAKE ON AND CONQUER THE BRENTFORD CHALLENGE

12th April 2017

Sunday saw the sun shining on Syon Park as over 200 participants took on the Brentford Challenge with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and Brentford Lock West. The event was split into different activities including the Family 5K Fun Run, 1K Children's Fun Run, Stand-Up Paddleboarding (at Brentford Lock) and multisport activity.

Former 10,000m World Record Holder and former London Marathon Race Director David Bedford OBE started the Family 5K Fun Run which saw Peter Drew cross the finish line in the quickest time of 20m 35secs to a high-five from Brentford FC mascot Buzz Bee. The quickest female finisher was Anita Giusti who came in second position overall in a time of 21min 05secs.

All competitors can check their timing for the 5k run through our timing partners on the following link: Brentford Challenge 5K Times images from the day can also be found on the Brentford FC website: Brentford Challenge Pictures.

Andrew Bell, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust said:  "When we were planning this years' event we wanted to make it less about the competition and more inclusive, proving that sport is for everyone. The day was a great success; it was particularly pleasing to see different generations of families taking part together in both the Family 5K Fun Run and the Children's 1K Fun Run. The weather helped to bring the crowds and the stunning backdrop of Syon House makes for a pleasurable run, jog or walk."

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, said: "The Brentford Challenge is always a fun filled event, which appeals to people across the community. It was a privilege to be involved again this year and it was great to see so many people taking the opportunity to get active. Whether it's paddle boarding on the Grand Union Canal or enjoying the stunning grounds of Syon Park, Brentford has plenty to offer its residents. Our thanks go to the Sports Trust for orchestrating yet another superb community event."

We have worked with Brentford Lock West in previous years where the event was much more competitively focused – this year we want the event to be inclusive for all of the family to take part together, including grand-parents and children. We are looking to provide a taster of a number of different sports that can inspire the next golden generation."

John Robinson, Development Director, Brentford Lock West added: "The Brentford Challenge is a superb family event and really helps to highlight some of the area's fantastic facilities. From paddleboarding on the canal to enjoying the impressive grounds within Syon Park, it's an opportunity to make the most of some of the area's greatest attributes. We are proud to be sponsoring this event for a fifth year now and we look forward to another packed day of activities. Since we first launched our development here, we have been impressed with the strong community spirit within the town, and it's important to us that we continue to be a part of this. With phase two at Brentford Lock West now launched we have a busy year ahead and look forward to welcoming more residents to this exciting and often undiscovered part of West London."

Tom Bedford, Race Director of Richmond RUNFEST said: "We have worked with Brentford Community Sports Trust at our running festival in September where they provide multi-sport coaching. We have been keen to launch an event on the north-side of the river, and to carry-on the partnership with Brentford, this event seemed like the perfect opportunity."

PENTHOUSES PROVE POPULAR AT WATERSIDE SCHEME

20th Februry 2017

Phase two at Brentford Lock West launched with great success this weekend as interested buyers descended on the newly refurbished marketing suite, keen to be one of the first to view the stunning new selection of apartments released for sale here.

Penthouses proved the 'pick of the day', with all three of the penthouse apartments released getting snapped up over the weekend. With impressive waterside views, a high specification throughout and an opportunity to become a part of the thriving new community, which has already begun to get established here, demand for these eagerly anticipated new homes is expected to remain high.

Chalico Walk makes up the first of the homes to be released as part of phase two at Brentford Lock West - an award-winning development by Waterside Places. A waterfront building of 42 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, Chalico Walk overlooks Brentford's Grand Union Canal, where Waterside Places has carried out extensive improvements. Homes here enjoy a desirable position and offer buyers the opportunity to secure themselves a highly specified new home in a prime setting.

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, said:
"It was great to see so many people over the weekend, all keen to secure themselves one of our stunning new homes. Our existing residents on phase one continually tell us how pleased they are to have moved here and have enjoyed exploring all that this relatively undiscovered part of West London has to offer. With access onto the canal, the likes of Syon Park within easy reach and so many local events and activities on offer, such as the well-established weekly market, there really is so much to see and do. We are very excited to have launched the first of our homes on phase two and I'd encourage anyone who is considering a purchase here to come down and see what we have on offer."

Situated along the banks of the Grand Union Canal, Brentford Lock West forms part of a long-term regeneration project to breathe new life into Brentford through the anticipated delivery of approximately 500 new homes. Close to local shops, leisure facilities, beautiful parks and waterside walkways, the scheme has been carefully designed to maximise the water frontage whilst offering stylish and unique homes, community spaces and commercial buildings in a new desirable West London destination.

Chalico Walk comprises a collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £412,500. A significant number of the homes enjoy direct water views. PHASE TWO AT BRENTFORD LOCK WEST LAUNCHING

13th February 2017

The eagerly anticipated phase two at Brentford Lock West will be launching this weekend – with appointments now being taken for the launch event on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February 2017.

Chalico Walk will make up the first of the homes to be released as part of phase two at Brentford Lock West - an award-winning development by Waterside Places.

Mæ Architects has designed the homes to offer a new architectural perspective while complementing the first phase at Brentford Lock West, which has sold out. The six pavilion buildings have distinct saw-tooth roof forms that make reference to the neighbouring wharf architecture, while terraces of townhouses and inhabited bridges link the pavilions and enclose a resident garden. The visual relationship to the canal is optimised with buildings positioned to frame views of the water.

The highly specified properties will benefit from high gloss kitchens with Silestone composite worktops and contemporary bathroom suites with white sanitaryware and chrome fittings.

John Robinson, Development Director at Brentford Lock West, said:
"The interest we are already receiving about the imminent launch of phase two is significant and is testament to the quality of the homes we delivered here on phase one. Brentford Lock West has already had a substantial impact on this corner of west London, as a result of vast investment in the local waterways and new initiatives such as the hugely popular rooftop allotments on top of Carrick Square. Phase two will bring further architectural diversity and a variety of homes to cater for every element of this growing new community."
